Andrew Hagenow - Director At-Large

Andrew Hagenow

Andrew Hagenow, of Rockford in Kent County, has served as a Director At-Large on the Michigan Farm Bureau Board of Directors since 2000. Prior, he served on the board from 1994-95 as the Young Farmer Representative and chairman of the MFB Young Farmer Committee.

Hagenow has enjoyed a diverse agricultural career. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in agriculture and Extension education and initially worked as a feed salesman. In 1991 he made the decision to farm full-time with his family. Up until his father's retirement in August 2009, the family raised dairy cows. Today, Hagenow still raises some dairy heifers but is transitioning the farm to a beef cattle operation. He also grows corn, soybeans and alfalfa on 250 acres.

During his tenure with Farm Bureau Hagenow has held several leadership positions at the county, state and national levels. These include chairing MFB's political action committee, AgriPac , and serving as a member of the MFB Policy Development Committee. In addition, he served as vice president of the Kent County Farm Bureau and chairman of the Kent County Farm Bureau Policy Development Committee. His past experience also includes representing the Midwest region on the American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmer and Rancher Committee and chairing the Young Farmer and Rancher Discussion Meet sub-committee.

Hagenow's involvement extends to several other agricultural organizations, including the Michigan Milk Producers Association, 4-H and the Michigan FFA Association. He also has the distinction of serving as the Region 5 FFA state officer from 1984-85.
