Summary of 2009 Annual Meeting

The Copper Country Farm Bureau Annual Meeting was held on Saturday, October 10,2009, at the Keweenaw Bay Fire Hall. Thirty two people were present.  Duane Kolpack was elected as a representative from Ontonagon County.  Bob Wahmhoff was elected as a representative of Baraga County.  Jim Countryman was elected as an at large member.  Gary Palosaari was re-elected into the Houghton County position.  Judy Szyszkoski was appointed to the P&E Committee Chair position.  Al Usimaki and Jared Shimp were appointed as young farmer chairs.

John Talsma was elected President, Stanley Johns, Vice President, and Gary Palosaari as third member.

The P&E Committee held a silent auction and raised $85 for the local food bank. John Talsma and Duane Kolpack plan to attend the State Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids Dec. 1 to 4.
