Office Relocation

The county offices have been housed in the current location for the past five years.  The lease is expiring at the end of June and with the current economic downturn, the Livingston County Farm Bureau Board felt the lease price could be reduced.  Unfortunately, the current landlord of our facility, located at 2810 Grand River Avenue, Suite 300, was unresponsive so the Building Committee, consisting of Matt Germane, Mitch Glover, & Chuck White, began seeking alternative locations in earnest in February.

The office will relocate on June 3, 2009, to 1004 S. Pinckney Rd., Suite 101, next to the Wendy's restaurant, where long-time Farm Bureau Insurance agent, Joe Gabriele, has his office.  Excluding the cost of build out, the prices Joe provided are significantly less than we currently pay".  Under this scenario, the County FB will subcontract office space from Gabriele.  Michelle Maloney, Manager of the County Services Department for Michigan Farm Bureau in Lansing, Michigan, says "this type of arrangement is not unusual; we find that agents and county offices often co-locate and find ways to help each other's core functions while still maintaining the independence and confidentiality required of each business unit."
