Description:
The Annual Meeting was held at St. Michael Lutheran School, of Belknap. The dinner was served by the Ladies Aid. Michigan Farm Bureau President, Wayne Wood, spoke about the new County Agreement and the positive aspects it will have financially and member involvement for Presque Isle County.
Directors John Chappa, Eldon Knopf, and Larry Karsten were reelected to serve another two-year term.
Adopted Resolutions (titles) were: Open season for crows, Support the proposed power plant in Rogers City, support the wind power initiative by Wolverine Power in Rogers City, retain local Township Governments, use of cell phones while driving illegal, support local farmer markets, support for Conservation Districts. Resolutions that failed: tax on soda drinks, deposits on all drink containers, prevention of Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs).
The meeting ended with a fun auction with John Chappa and Harley Schaedig acting as autioneers.
