Starting with the fiscal year 2008-2009, the Board of Directors of this corporation shall consist of four (4) directors elected from districts enumerated herein, three (3) directors at large; one (1) director representing the Young Farmer Committee; and one director representing the Promotion and Education Committee.
Directors-at-large shall be elected for a term of two (2) years. Two (2) directors are to be elected on even years and one director to be elected on odd years. Each district shall elect one director for a term of two (2) years. Directors for Districts two (2) and four (4) shall be elected on even years and directors for Districts one (1) and three (3) shall be elected on odd years. Directors shall be elected for not more than six (6) consecutive years and may be re-elected after a one-year vacancy.
The Districts shall be as follows:
District #1 - Lansing, Delhi, Meridian & Alaiedon Townships
District #2 - Williamstown, Wheatfield, Locke & Leroy Townships
District #3 - Aurelius, Onondaga, Vevay & Leslie Townships
District #4 - Ingham, Bunker Hill, White Oak & Stockbridge Townships

![]() | LAURIE KOELLING, President. Laurie and her husband Mel live and operate Tannenbaum Farms at 2515 Sandhill Rd. in Mason. They grow pumpkins and Christmas trees and offer a full-service choose and cut operation, which includes a Christmas gift shop, wreath and garland sales. In her "spare" time, she is a realtor with Tomie Raines Inc. and enjoys working with people throughout the greater Lansing area. Hobbies include church choir, travel, sewing and her pets, Hans and Olie the reindeer and Abby the cocker spaniel. Mel & Laurie take part in a local CAG and have been involved in several Farm Bureau activities both with the farm and representing MCTA. Laurie has previously served on the ICFB Board of Directors as President and Vice-President and has represented District 5 on the State Policy Development Committee. |
![]() | JOHN ALLEN, Vice-President. John and his wife Beth live on Holt Rd in Wheatfield Township. Together they've raised 3 children, Lynn, David & Cheryl. He runs a general cash crop farm operation. He raises corn, wheat and soybeans. His hobbies include traveling and restoring antique tractors. He is a member of the All Color Antique Tractor Club and attends the Free Methodist Church. John likes to attend Antique Tractor Shows and Farm Crop Tours. He retired from the Department of Veterinary Medicine at MSU in May of 1996. He is a past-member of the Ingham County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He currently serves as a member on the Candidate Evaluation, Membership, and Policy Development committees and Chairperson of the Hardscrabble Community Action Group. |
| JEANINE IGL, Third Member. Jeanie and husband Tony live on Barnes Rd in Aurelius Township. They have 4 children, Stephanie, Christina, Amanda & Samantha. They operate a 2300 acre cash crop farm in conjunction with her parents including wheat, seed wheat, corn, commercial soybeans and soybeans for seed. She enjoys refinishing furniture, home decorating, being a Girl Scout leader, gardening and singing at church. She is affiliated with the St. James Catholic Church and also teaches religion classes. Jeanie currently serves as a member on the Promotion & Education, Candidate Evaluation, and County Issues committees. | |
![]() | GERALD SCHWAB, District 1. Gerald and his wife Martha currently live on a small farm in Delhi Township. Gerry was born and raised on a full-time farm in southwest Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army and subsequently earned academic degrees from Iowa State University, Michigan State University and Purdue University. Since 1976, Gerry and Martha have lived in Delhi Township, raised three children graduating from mason Public schools, and have independently operated their part-time farm for the past 30+ years. Starting in 1974, Gerry was professionally employed in the Ag Economics Dept at MSU. He also has been on the advisory board of FarmHouse fraternity. Gerry joined his wife in retirement in 2004. He then formed a joint farm venture, S and S Farm, with Tim Strickland to produce cash crops. |
![]() | GARY HAYNES, District 3. Gary and his wife Sandy live on Eifert Road in Aurelius Township. Gary and his son Garrett farms over 4,000 acres of owned and rented farmland. Their primary crops include: wheat, soybeans and corn. Gary currently serves on the Policy Development, Local Affairs, and Land Use committees and serves on the Ingham County Farmland Preservation Board. |
![]() | DON OESTERLE, At-Large. Don and his wife Sara have three children, Alex, Isaac, and Isabelle. They live on a farm in Bunker Hill township. Don along with his brother Russ and father Jeff farm about 2,000 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat and hay. They also raise beef cattle. |
![]() | GARY WILCOX, District 4. Gary and his wife Emily live at 3685 Iosco Road in Dansville. They have three grown daughters and two granddaughters. Gary farms in partnership with his father Charles on 1400 acres. They raise corn, soybeans, wheat and feed out about 275 Holstein steers. In his spare time, Gary enjoys flying his Cessna Cardinal plane when his has time. Gary and his wife are very active in their church. He has previously served on the Ingham County Conservation Board of Directors and also belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International. |
![]() | BETTY JO NASH, Young Farmer Chair. Betty Jo lives on Toles Road in Mason. She is the 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator for Ingham County. She primarily works with volunteers and youth in the areas of leadership development, career exploration, entrepreneurship, and animal related projects. Betty Jo and her boyfriend, Keith Rockwood, raise Polish and Californian rabbits. She has been a Farm Bureau member for 7 years. She holds a bachelor's degree from MSU in Animal Science and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Not-for-Profit Leadership from Siena Heights University. She currently serves on the Policy Development Committee. |
| GLADYS WELKER, Promotion & Education Chair. Gladys lives on Ives Road in Mason. She is retired and rents out her farm land. Gladys has chaired Project RED for the past three years and co-chaired Project RED for the two years before that. Gladys has also co-chaired the Ingham County Food Stand at the Ingham County Fair for the past nine years. Gladys is always volunteering her time somewhere, whether for Farm Bureau, church or for anyone who needs a helping hand. Gladys Welker was named Michigan Farm Bureau's Volunteer of the Month for February 2008 for her outstanding work in educating young people about agriculture and promoting Michigan's second-largest Industry. | |
