The Lester and Adrianna Langeland Scholarship:
Supported by the Ottawa County Farm Bureau
Ottawa County Farm Bureau annually offers two (2) $2,500 scholarships to eligible students attending Michigan State University:
In order to be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must be a dependant of a current Ottawa County Farm Bureau regular member, or if married, or 21 years of age or older, have his/her own Ottawa County Farm Bureau membership.
The applicant should have a scholastic grade point average, as indicated by Michigan State University, of 2.75 or above, on a 4.0 scale.
The applicant must be accepted or enrolled at Michigan State University in an agriculturally related course of study.
Application must be received no later than March 1st at the Ottawa County Farm Bureau office, in the calendar year for which they are applying. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than April 15th.
The scholarship is to be applied toward tuition at Michigan State University beginning with the fall semester following receipt of the scholarship. Awards are made in two installments one each at the end of the first two semesters. To receive any installment the student must maintain a 2.75 GPA for the semester.
The scholarship is a gift, not a loan.
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students who are preparing for careers in the agricultural industry. The award of the scholarship is solely within the discretion of the Ottawa County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

MARGE KARKER SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Note: The scholarship deadline has changed for the Marge Karker Scholarship!
The application deadline for the Michigan Farm Bureau Marge Karker Scholarship has been changed to January 10, 2012. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled in a two, four, or post-graduate agricultural program at Michigan State University.
Student recipients must be from a Farm Bureau family, or if married or 21 year of age or older, have his/her own Farm Bureau membership in good standing.
Scholarship monies will be applied toward tuition at Michigan State University beginning with the fall semester following receipt of the scholarship. Application forms are available at county Farm Bureau offices and online.
Scholarship interviews for finalists will be held late January at the Farm Bureau Center. Scholarship money will awarded to the for the students' 2012 -2013 tuition. Administering the scholarships is the State Promotion & Education Committee.
