Since its establishment, Monroe County Farm Bureau has been dedicated to defending the rights and economic interests of its members.

MONROE COUNTY FARM BUREAU RECOGNIZED FOR OUTSTANDING PROGRAMS

The Monroe County Farm Bureau was recognized at the 90th Michigan Farm Bureau State Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids during the 2009 Membership Banquet.  Donald Sahloff, president of the Monroe County Farm Bureau, accepted the Star Awards from MFB President Wayne Wood on behalf of the county Farm Bureau.

Thanks to the many hours of volunteer time and effort, Monroe County received Gold Star Awards in the categories of Membership, Communications, Member Involvement, Promotion and Education, Public Policy, and Young Farmer.  Monroe County was also recognized with Silver Star Awards in the categories of Political Action and Policy Development.

Star Awards recognize county Farm Bureau for their hard work and creativity in promoting agriculture at the county level.  Applications are judged by Michigan Farm Bureau staff.

Farm Bureau staff, insurance agents and volunteer members are also recognized with Key Club Awards for writing five or more new regular members in a calendar year.  Receiving this award from Monroe County in 2009 were William Copi, Donald Sahloff, Bob Liedel, Barry Thornbury, Matt Taylor and Jan VanBuskirk.
