John Bishop, Charter Member, obituary
John Paul Bishop, Johnny to most, concluded a long joyful life on December 26, 2010. Johnny joins his wife of 62 years, Berenice, his brother, Leslie, mother Bertha and father Albert. John was born July 15, 1914, in Chassell, raised in the Copper Country, loved it and refused to leave it for the entire 96 years of his life. Click for more information

Summary of 2009 Annual Meeting
The Copper Country Farm Bureau Annual Meeting was held on Saturday, October 10,2009, at the Keweenaw Bay Fire Hall. Thirty two people were present. Duane Kolpack was elected as a representative from Ontonagon County. Bob Wahmhoff was elected as a representative of Baraga County. Jim Countryman was elected as an at large member. Gary Palosaari was re-elected into the Houghton County position. Judy Szyszkoski was appointed to the P&E Committee Chair position. Click for more information

Washington Legislative Seminar
Copper Country Farm Bureau, by participating in the CORE program at Michigan Farm Bureau, is eligible to send two representatives to Washington D.C. for the Legislative Seminar. This year, Gary and Carol Saari attended. Click for more information

Copper Country Farm Bureau Annual Meeting
The October 13, 2007 Annual Meeting was a big success. From a delicious meal, good dialogue on the resolutions, to a crowd pleasing performance from a local 6th grade student, Courtney Clisch, and comments from Michigan Farm Bureau President Wayne Wood, the evening was very successful. Farm Tour suffers due to rain, but not the crops!
The Copper Country Farm Tour, held in conjunction with the Michigan Foodways exhibit from the Michigan State Museum and the Smithsonian's "Key Ingredients" took place on August 11th in partially cloudy to rainy conditions. Click for more information

Copper Country Farm Bureau Farm Tour
Saturday, August 11th, will be the date of a farm tour consisting of 5 different farms. Snowland Livestock, on the Pike River Road will feature sheep and draft horses, Rolling Acres on the North Entry Road, is a dairy farm, the Gierke Blueberry Farm is on the Klingville Road, the Lake Superior Tree Farm is on US 41 south of Chassell and the Keweenaw Berry Farm Bakery and Restaurant will be the final stop.
