Condition of County Roads and Maintenance of Road Right of Way

Whereas the Calhoun County Farm Bureau has over the past several years voiced our concerns to the Calhoun County Road Commission as to the condition of the county roads and the maintenance of the road right of way.  Some progress has been made, but much work remains to be done.  Things of concern are:  less mowing of roadsides, brush and small trees growing on or near the side of the roads, rough uneven roads, and ditches have become filled in.  This is a safety issue as well as causing the damage to trucks and equipment. 

Therefore be it resolved we instruct the Calhoun County Farm Bureau Local Affairs Committee to maintain contact with the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners, and the Calhoun County Road Commission, so these issues are not forgotten. Adopted September 18, 2007 at the CCFB Annual Meeting
