Local Resolutions

County Parks

Clinton County has many areas designated as parks.  We recommend that the County Board of Commissioners refrain from becoming involved in owning and operating any additional parks.  We recommend the county support and facilitate existing local parks and recreation areas.  We also recommend a directory by published by the county listing all county, city and state parks located in Clinton County.  We recommend these directories be placed in county offices, and that the Board of Commissioners look into other methods of disbursing this information (e.g. county website).

Rails-To-Trails Supervision

We will support a supervised Rail-to-Trails as long as the trail doesn't limit agricultural production and protects adjacent landowner rights.  The trail must be maintained and litter routinely removed.  Rules must be posted and enforced.

Inequitale Tax Burden for Road Updates

County/Township Government upgrades road and assesses adjacent landowners without their requesting it.  The costs should be spread across all residents who benefit from the improvements.

Clinton County/Township Government should not solely assess adjacent landowners for improvements that benefit other area residents.
