Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports the implemetation of a County Wide mosquito control system. ADOPTED
STOP SIGNS
Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports enhancing all county stop signs by adding a reflective strip to the stop sign post. ADOPTED
DEER MANAGEMENT
Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports that the DNR put together a comprehensive deer management plan county wide that involves setting a target number of kills per season, and if those target numbers aren't reached a plan of action should be implemented to decrease the number of deer in the county. ADOPTED
DONATE EXCESS VENISON
Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports a way for deer meat from fall kills that aren't going to be used by the hunter, to be able to be donated to local area food pantries. ADOPTED
TRAFFIC LIGHT
Gladwin County Farm Bureau encourages local officials to put in a traffic light at the intersection of M-61 and james Robertson Drive/Sports Complex entrance. ADOPTED
ROADSIDE MEMORIALS
Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports a ban on roadside memorials in the case of roadside death. These memorials are distractions to drivers and can lead to serious injury or even death. ADOPTED

HORSE SLAUGHTER
Gladwin County Farm Bureau suppots further education of the public concerning the repercussions that the current horse slaughter legislation is having on the horse industry, and would encourage our legislators to reinstate the humane slaughter of horses. ADOPTED
G.M.O. DRY BEANS
Gladwin County Farm Bureau encourages further research into G.M.O. dry beans, through the M.S.U. dry bean breeding program, in an effort to keep the dry bean industry in pace with other commodities; which have already enhanced their yields with this technology. ADOPTED
CLARE COUNTY AFFIRMATION
Gladwin County supports Clare County's Amendment to the Policy Book, to mandate a minimal royalty payment of 1/8th of the gross proceeds measured at the well head to be paid to the land owner in the cases of leasing oil right lands. ADOPTED
MONROE COUNTY AFFIRMATION
Gladwin County supports review of the Agri-Pac policy regarding the designation of "Friends of Agriculture." ADOPTED
National Resolutions
TAXABLE DEDUCTION
Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports a change in the tax code stating self employed persons should have a tax deduction for their health care premiums. ADOPTED
CAMPAIGN ADS
Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports limiting active campaign ads through the media, to no more than 90 days prior to the general elections. ADOPTED
CAPITAL GAINS CREDITS
Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports a capital gains tax credits be provided in the case of selling current farm land to beginning or young farmers, provided that the land is continued to be designated as agricultural land. ADOPTED
AGGRESSIVE AGRICULTURAL APPROACH
Gladwin County Farm Bureau encourages continued implementation of an aggressive approach to combating issues related to agriculture. Farm Bureau must continue to find ways to relate these issues to the general public instead of being reactionary. This should be an educational process that is backed up by facts rather than emotion or fear. ADOPTED
INCREASED INCENTIVES
Gladwin County Farm Bureau supports increasing incentives for competitive drilling, including angle and offset drilling, and other types of energy exploration. Streamline the permit process to expedite the process for energy exploration. ADOPTED
