4-H Fun Night Ice Cream Social and Bicycle Giveaway

During the Clare County Fair (Aug. 18-23) the 4-H sponsors a fun night for its families. Clare County FB joins in the fun by sponsoring an ice social and bicycle giveaway for the youth. We welcome anyone who wants to dip ice cream to join us on 4-H Fun Night in the area outside the animal barns.  Just look for our sign and introduce yourself. Hint, hint: The 4-H agent is also a FB member, so we are easy to find, just ask around.

Young Farmer

Young Farmer

The Young Farmer program is designed to develop leadership potential for men and women between the ages of 18 and 35.

Young Farmers are a vital part of agriculture's continued existance. They are few and far between and usually very busy with work and family. This group is available to provide an environment where young farmers and their families can come together to share some ideas as well as some fun with those who have similar interests and business endeavors.  They are currently planning some social events, so call the county office for the latest event information.

Young People's Citizenship Seminar

Young People's Citizenship Seminar

Over two hundred twenty of the top students from Michigan convene each year in late June to learn about world economic and political systems and conduct their own mock election. Sponsored by county Farm Bureaus across the state, the Citizenship Seminar has been conducted for over 35 years and has provided leadership skills for over 5,000 of Michigan's youth.

The 2008 participant was Tanya Fancon who had rave reviews about the seminar and the friendships she acquired there.  She will be sharing her experience with the members at this fall's county annual meeting.  If you know of a student that willbe a Junior or Senior during the 2009-10 school year, please contact the county office by April to get registration forms.  These forms may also be available from area high school guidance counselors.
