Promotion & Education

Promotion & Education

The goal of the Promotion and Education program is to educate Michigan consumers about agriculture through working with children and schools and coordinating public outreach programs to promote and educate about agriculture. In addition, the Promotion and Education program strives to educate farmers on issues impacting agriculture.

The second grade class at the Chassell School again hatched chicks successfully.  Mrs. Heitala reported that the students anxiously await the project each year.  All of the elementary watches and waits for the hatching to begin, streaming through the classroom to check things out. A second incubator is available for other schools in the Copper Country Farm Bureau area.

Young Farmer

The Young Farmer program is designed to develop leadership potential for men and women between the ages of 18 and 35.

Copper Country Farm Bureau is pleased to announce that a YOUNG FARMER Chairperson has been appointed.  Karen Palosaari (formerly Jahfetson) has accepted the appointment. Karen grew up on a dairy farm and is currently employed at the Palosaari Dairy Farm, where she is involved in all aspects of the dairy operation, especially milking.
