Apples for Teachers Program
Every September we deliver a basket containing apples, candy and other goodies to every public, parochial and country school in appreciation of our teachers for their continued dedication to excellence in education and for keeping agriculture in their curriculum.

Community Action Groups
This group of friends and neighbors meets monthly to discuss key issues affecting agriculture. Whether the issue is zoning, community planning, school finance, or even a neighborhood beautification project, a Community Action Group is the perfect tool to find solutions, gain knowledge, share ideas, and take action.
If you are interested in starting a CAG group, please call the County Office at (989) 269-9911
For more information about this program, visit the Community Action Groups website.Give a Pint / Get a Pint
Offers a new twist to a blood drive. In honor of July being National Ice Cream Month, we hold a blood drive in our office and in return for a pint of blood we give a pint of ice cream. All of the ice cream is fully donated by Country Fresh Inc.

Promotion & Education
The goal of the Promotion and Education program is to educate Michigan consumers about agriculture through working with children and schools and coordinating public outreach programs to promote and educate about agriculture. In addition, the Promotion and Education program strives to educate farmers on issues impacting agriculture.
We are very committed to teaching our youngsters about the different phases of agriculture. In September we hold Project RED (Rural Education Day), involving 700-800 Huron County third graders. We also have a "Little Red Barn" and "Ruby Mae" Programs, that consists of a traveling barn and a 3/4 life size cow with learning materials geared towards K-3rd graders and is available to all Huron County Schools.
