Cleo Dutkiewicz Memorial Scholarship

Cleo Dutkiewicz was a long-time, beloved employee of Livingston County Farm Bureau.  After Cleo's passing in November 1996, the Livingston County Farm Bureau Board of Directors felt that creating this scholarship would be a nice way to keep our memories of Cleo alive.

Any one interested in applying for this scholarship must meet the following qualifications:

1) be a Livingston County Farm Bureau member for one year (less at the Board's discretion), either parent of or student.

2) be a resident of Livingston County

3) pursue an Ag major

4) already have completed one year in an Ag major

5) attend Michigan State University

Applications are available at the Livingston County Farm Bureau office.

Promotion & Education

Promotion & Education

The goal of the Promotion and Education program is to educate Michigan consumers about agriculture through working with children and schools and coordinating public outreach programs to promote and educate about agriculture. In addition, the Promotion and Education program strives to educate farmers on issues impacting agriculture.

Young People's Citizenship Seminar

Young People's Citizenship Seminar

Over two hundred twenty of the top students from Michigan convene each year in late June to learn about world economic and political systems and conduct their own mock election. Sponsored by county Farm Bureaus across the state, the Citizenship Seminar has been conducted for over 35 years and has provided leadership skills for over 5,000 of Michigan's youth.

For 2010 the seminar will be held on June 28th - July 1st, 2010 at the Northwood University in Midland.  We are looking for positive and active students who will be juniors and seniors in the 2010-2011 school year.  For more information, contact Deb Holmes at (517) 546-8124.  Registration deadline is April 23, 2010.
