Michigan Farm Bureau Policy

On feeding and baiting

MFB member-developed policy supports a "statewide ban on feeding and baiting of free-ranging deer" as covered in Policy #41: TB - Mycobacterium Bovis Tuberculosis.

On disease testing

MFB member-developed policy advocates that "all out-of-state hunter-harvested deer should be tested for CWD at the state of origin" as found in Policy #22: Livestock and Poultry Health.

On wildlife management

MFB member-developed policy recognizes that "wildlife is an important part of Michigan's outdoor heritage and the state's economy. However, sound biological science must be used to manage wildlife properly and to minimize property loss and the spread of disease. Diseases like bovine tuberculosis (TB), Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), and West Nile Virus, and their negative potential impacts on human health, demonstrate the urgent need to effectively manage wildlife populations." (Policy #86: Wildlife Management)
