Washington Legislative Seminar

The 2012 Washington Legislative Seminar (WLS) is scheduled for March 21-23, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Capitol in Washington, D.C., only steps from the National Mall. For Registration information please contact your county Farm Bureau. The Registration deadline is January 27, 2012.

The 2012 WLS is your chance to learn how Washington, D.C. operates first hand, visit face-to-face with your Representative, and update yourself on the priority issues impacting agriculture! The agenda is packed with an incredible experience you will find both useful and enjoyable.

The WLS is a 3-day event in Washington, DC that includes:

  • Three days at the Holiday Inn Capitol
  • Briefings from American Farm Bureau Staff
  • A breakfast with your member of Congress (invited)
  • A breakfast with Senator Stabenow and Levin (invited
  • Federal Agency visit
  • Capitol Hill visits
  • Effective grassroots lobbying begins by building a relationship with elected officials. Farmers can influence members of Congress by talking to them face-to-face both on the farm and in Washington, D.C. County Public Policy Committee members are encouraged to attend, but all Farm Bureau members are welcome. Contact your county office for more information about representing your county in Washington D.C.
