Washington Legislative Seminar

This year's Washington Legislative Seminar will be held March 10-11, 2010. Registration airfare purchase deadline is Friday, January 29, 2010.
The Washington Legislative Seminar (WLS) provides an opportunity for Farm Bureau members to make personal contacts with members of Congress and other government leaders. Past seminars have included Embassy visits, comments from the Secretary of Agriculture, and tours of our Nation's Capitol.
WLS is a two day event in Washington, D.C. that includes:
- A meal with your member of Congress (invited)
- A meal with Senators Stabenow and Levin (invited)
- Comments from USDA, an Embassy, or other Departments
- An update on legislative issues impacting agriculture
Effective grassroots lobbying begins by building a relationship with elected officials. Farmers can influence members of Congress by talking to them face-to-face both on the farm and in Washington, D.C. County Public Policy Committee members are encouraged to attend, but all Farm Bureau members are welcome. Contact your county office for more information about representing your county in Washington D.C.
