The 11th annual Discover Michigan Farm Fun directory is now available and its release comes in tandem with a fully updated relaunch of MichiganFarmFun.com. Produced by the Michigan Agritourism Association (MATA) with the assistance of Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan and the Michigan Apple Committee, the guide has served as an essential agritourism companion, featuring a comprehensive collection of farm markets, u-pick farms, educational farms and more in every region of Michigan.
“We want to connect people with Michigan Farms,” said Jancie Benson, Executive Director at MATA. “The directory helps customers find the places where they can experience agriculture firsthand. Many farmers open their doors to the public and invite visitors to pick their own fruit, sample local wine, enjoy a hayride or meet the farm animals. The summer season is a great time for a visit.”
Michigan agriculture produces more than 300 commodities including asparagus, apples, blueberries, dairy products—including cheese and ice cream—tart cherries, dry beans, floriculture products, and cucumbers for pickles.
The Discover Michigan Farm Fun directory helps connect those craving a firsthand experience with this exciting and historical Michigan industry.
“The 2018 Michigan Farm Fun Directory is an excellent one-stop resource for anyone looking to explore Michigan’s bountiful harvest, including farmers’ markets, orchards, cider mills, u-pick operations and many more popular agritourism spots,” said Jennifer Miller, Communications, Public Relations, and Advertising Manager for Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan. “We are proud to continue as a Legacy Sponsor supporting Michigan farmers and agritourism in every region of Michigan.”
Printed copies are available at Farm Bureau Insurance offices, Michigan Welcome Centers and tourist offices throughout Michigan, as well as every destination listed in the directory.
