Michigan u-pick farm operations across the state have been working to implement Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development protocols to protect themselves and their customers so they can safely operate in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

MDARD’s protocols were well-received by Janice Benson, executive director of the Michigan Agritourism Association, publisher of the annual Discover Michigan Farm Fun directory.
“Michigan u-pick farmers are excited and ready to open for the season and they have been busy making modifications to their operations to keep customers safe during their visits to the farm this year,” Benson said. “Customers can expect to follow social distancing guidelines in the fields and retail areas, but as always, they will be able to enjoy a great farm experience and delicious Michigan-grown fruit at its very best.”
