The Educator of the Year awards are designed to recognize educators' efforts to incorporate agriculture into the school curriculum both in K-12 classrooms and in Agriscience Career and Technical Education programs.
County Farm Bureaus should consider nominating teachers who have done an outstanding job integrating basic agricultural concepts into their lessons while meeting school curriculum objectives; as well as teachers who have developed their students' problem solving skills through the analysis of agricultural issues and information using creative teaching techniques or methods.
Agriscience teachers who are nominated should excel at preparing their students for careers in food, agriculture and natural resources related occupations.
Please see the nomination forms in each category for a full list of rules and eligibility.
Application deadline: February 10, 2017
The state winners will receive recognition at the Michigan Farm Bureau Annual Meeting, a cash prize to continue their agricultural education activities as well as a scholarship to attend the National Ag in the Classroom conference.
