County Farm Bureau members are encouraged to mark their calendars for August 15, when the state’s largest general farm organization will host its 2018 candidate forum, in advance of the general election.
“We’re inviting candidates running for governor and the open U.S. Senate seat to share their positions on important agricultural issues and give attendees an opportunity to ask questions,” said Matt Kapp, Michigan Farm Bureau’s government relations specialist. “We hope this will provide farmers with insight on the candidates that may not be apparent through mainstream media.”
County Farm Bureau candidate evaluation committees may choose to meet after the event to deliberate and discuss the candidates, if desired.
