In his eighth consecutive and final address to Michigan Farm Bureau members attending the organization’s 99th annual meeting, Gov. Rick Snyder thanked the state’s agricultural industry for leading the state’s economic comeback in the early days of his administration eight years ago.
Michigan Farm Bureau’s (MFB) President Carl Bednarski recognized St. Clair County Farm Bureau member Stacey Lauwers as the organization’s 2018 Presidential Volunteer of the Year, during his annual address at their 99th annual meeting at DeVos Place. The Presidential Volunteer of the Year award recognizes a farmer member who has exhibited a commitment to a specific program or event in their community.
Farm Bureau reinforces the importance of civil discourse in the discussion meets, even between those of differing opinions, that challenge the conversational wherewithal of young farmers and high school and college students in competitions that reward the diplomatic delivery of persuasive arguments and familiarity with current agricultural issues.
