A: The Social Media Swap Meet directory is NOT all-inclusive. Participation is a personal decision of each Farm Bureau member. Members voluntarily submit requests to appear on the directory. We do not publish a member's social media footprint without his or her prior consent.A person or a particular social media account of an individual won't appear on the directory either if he/she or the social media account does not meet MFB's eligibility criteria. See the following question for more information about this.
A: The Social Media Swap Meet is intended to feature MFB members as a resource for fellow Farm Bureau members. With this in mind, active MFB membership is required for listing. The only exceptions to this rule are students involved in the Collegiate Farm Bureau, FFA and/or 4-H.MFB also reserves the right to deny an application in its sole discretion and to remove accounts from the directory at any time. For members submitting multiple social media accounts, MFB may choose to list all the accounts or only approve the ones it feels are most appropriate for the directory.Discretionary reasons for non-inclusion may include questionable or potentially offensive images as well as viewpoints that run counter to food and/or operator safety and/or push unfounded claims and encourage divisiveness among the agriculture industry.
A: Social media accounts should be entirely and/or primarily agriculture-focused with a heavy concentration on agricultural advocacy, or "agvocacy," and/or farm marketing. The accounts should be of potential interest to fellow Farm Bureau members and be examples of different social media techniques and strategies that members newer to social media would benefit from seeing. Some social media accounts that have been updated less frequently were included in the launch for a variety of reasons. One, we applaud these members' initial use of the technology to tell agriculture's story. We hope their engagement with the Social Media Swap Meet reignites their investment in these social networks. Two, their work still serves as examples for members finding their footing in the social media agricultural landscape.
A: Yes, that's possible as member entries are received and approved.
A: To submit an application to add your agriculture-related social media links — at no cost, complete a Social Media Swap Meet Submission Form. New listings, once approved, are normally added to the directory within one business week.
