For the past several years, MFB’s County Farm Bureau Program Fund has helped fund county and multi-county programs based on great ideas, ambition and planning. The first (autumn) round of grants for the 2018-19 membership year are now available to county Farm Bureaus.
Autumn-round applications are for county Farm Bureau activities planned for Jan. 1 to Aug. 31, 2019. The spring application cycle (deadline April 1, 2019) will target activities scheduled between July and December 2019.
Each county can submit one application per cycle. Additional grant applications can be submitted for programs to be conducted jointly by multiple county Farm Bureaus, but no two applications may pertain to the same project.
Applications are scored by a grant review committee. The first 70 points are based on the county Farm Bureau’s 2017-18 liquidity; involvement data; and administrative and dues assessments.
Information about the County Program Fund—and the application form—are available on MFB’s website. Include as much detailed information as possible about your project or program, and how you plan to measure your goals. For more information, look over the Frequently Asked Questions.
Winners will be announced in mid-November. Half of the amount requested will be awarded at that time to aid in planning. Once the program or activity has occurred a final report will be required and final payment will be made.
In the 2017-18 membership year, more than $172,000 was awarded to 51 county Farm Bureaus and 10 joint county Farm Bureau programs to conduct activities. More detail about those awarded grants is available in the yellow-tinted reference section here.
Submit the completed applications to [email protected] by Oct. 19, 2018.
