NOTE: Here’s another peek under the hood of one of our 2018 Young Farmer Award finalists. The winners were chosen way back in March, but all 16 are outstanding and Farm Gate wants to know more about how they tick…
BINGHAM TOWNSHIP, CLINTON COUNTY — Our friends at Michigan Farm News recently tagged along with Clinton County Farm Bureau member Teresa Sisung for one of their cab-cam videos during wheat harvest. When they were done chatting about wheat, they changed gears and asked the active Young Farmer about her involvement in Farm Bureau itself.
Sisung shared some particularly useful insights with respect to the farmer’s evergreen struggle with time management.
“Everybody’s busy,” she said. “You find time for the things that are important to you.”
Foremost among those important things, she added, is staying connected.
“It’s really, really valuable…to have people you can call upon if you have questions.”
Listen to her take on the benefits of involvement in this extension of the conversation:
Sisung won this year’s Young Farmer Excellence in Agriculture Award, announced back in the spring. Learn more about her in our announcements earlier this year of our Young Farmer award finalists and winners.
