Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan has announced Adam Gulvas as their new Crop Insurance Specialist for the Saginaw Valley. Adam will begin his new responsibilities on October 15, 2018.

“I’m very excited to join the Farm Bureau family as a Crop Insurance Specialist,” said Gulvas. “I look forward to the opportunity to be out on farms, develop relationships within our local communities and serve the farmers of Michigan within this new role.”

Adam has most recently worked as an Associate Financial Services Officer with Greenstone Farm Credit Services. However, a larger portion of his career history includes time with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency, first as a County Operations Trainee and then as the County Executive Director.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Adam to the Crop Insurance Team,” said Janna Fritz, Crop Insurance Manager, Farm Bureau Insurance. “His experience working with the Farm Service Agency will provide added resources to the team and has equipped him with skills that translate well into working with crop insurance. Additionally, his farm background enables him to relate with farmers and explain the implications of each crop insurance product. We’re committed to growing our crop insurance business, and with this new addition, our entire team is reinvigorated to grow and provide the most outstanding customer service in the industry.”

Born in Standish, Adam grew up on the family farm, raising corn, wheat, dry beans and soybeans. He was active in 4-H and FFA as a youth. Adam graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. While attending Northwood, Adam played on the varsity men’s football team and earned an All-GLIAC Academic Award for 4 seasons. He was also honored with the Willo Anker Scholarship, awarded for academic achievement and career interest in marketing.

Adam and his wife Alyssa are no strangers to Farm Bureau Insurance. Alyssa has been developing her own Farm Bureau Insurance agency in Kawkawlin, MI for the last three years. They currently live in Auburn, MI.
