Food processors stimulate growth in West Michigan agriculture

Continental Dairy in Coopersville produces more than 300,000 pounds of dry, non-fat milk per day for use as the base ingredient for a wide variety of consumer products including ice cream, cheese, yogurt, whipped cream, pasta sauce and more.

MFB President Carl Bednarski recently addressed the need of continued growth in food processing, particularly dairy, in a recent article by John Wiegand of MiBiz.

“Dairy is in an interesting situation because Michigan has a climate that encourages a lot of production of milk,” Bednarski said. “When you take that and our processing capabilities in the state, we are outproducing what we’re processing.” Read the full story here.
