Sietsema wins national tractor pulling title

Allendale farmer Tony Sietsema pulls in the championship round.

Michigan farmer Tony Sietsema of Allendale drove the 9,300-pound Super Farm tractor "Wolverine Deere" into the sand pile for a full pull to claim first place at the National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS) 50th Anniversary Championship Tractor Pull held Feb. 17, in Freedom Hall at Louisville, Kentucky.

Sietsema earned the right to be in the championship round held on Saturday night by placing 4th in an earlier pull round held on Wednesday, Feb. 14th.

Overall Sietsema bested 23 other entries in the 9300-pound Super Farm Division of the half-century event held during four days of the 53rd NFMS.
