A community of farmers in Gratiot County came together recently to help the family of one of their own. Josh Humm, a husband and father of two with one on the way, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 38 on Nov. 4, 2018 during the height of harvest on his farm near Ithaca. What would have taken Josh ten days to harvest the hundreds of acres still in the fields, an army of friends and family put their own crops on hold and rallied together to accomplish the task in six short hours.

A 1999 graduate of Breckenridge High School, Josh attended MSU’s ag program and loved the Spartans. He and his wife Samantha were the recipients of Michigan Farm Bureau’s Achievement Award in 2012, in recognition for outstanding achievement in the business of farming and leadership in the agricultural community – an ag community Josh truly loved. James Felton of WNEM-TV5 filed this report.
