After failing to get her 45-cent fuel tax increase enacted, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is addressing her “fixing the damn roads” platform via bonds already approved by the State Transportation Commission.
County Farm Bureau members, specifically growers of specialty crops, and Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) staff traveled to Washington, DC earlier this week to advocate for agricultural labor reform and to participate in an ag labor conference, put on by the National Council of Agricultural Employers (NCAE), of which MFB is a member.

Several major member-approved policy recommendations from the Michigan Farm Bureau’s annual meeting this past December were approved by delegates during the American Farm Bureau Federation’s (AFBF) 101st Annual Convention this week.
For its full-court press approach to addressing existing issues and keeping officials aware of Farm Bureau’s stances on them, the Kalamazoo County Farm Bureau has earned MFB’s 2020 Excellence in Grassroots Lobbying Award.
