Farm Gate issue #20 (this one here) is on the thin side for reasons that’ll be obvious to any moderately seasoned member: MFB’s 2018 Annual Meeting is next week.
Planning the MFB annual is a yearlong, year-round process, but October and November here at Farm Bureau Center is pretty much all-annual, all the time for most staff. It demands all that attention because it’s the biggest event on our calendar, but from another vantage point, it’s also just the beginning of…
MEETING SEASON 2018-19:
It’s a busy time of year for active Farm Bureau members and staff alike, and all of the above will be dominating the content of Farm Gate for the next several months.
Why? Because our priority is member involvement, and there are ample opportunities for you to expand your Farm Bureau involvement as soon as next month, when the registration windows start swinging open for our midwinter events.
If you’re a start-small kinda guy/gal, and attending a state-level event sounds like a bit much for you, there are always opportunities to dip your toes into Farm Bureau involvement at the local level. Contact your county Farm Bureau office or your MFB regional representative to learn more.
Regardless of where you’re most comfortable joining in, please do step off the sidelines and try your hand at something. Michigan agriculture needs fewer benchwarmers and more folks willing to suit up and get in the game!
