With annual meeting behind us, Michigan Farm Bureau’s (MFB) 2018-19 Meeting Season is now officially under way. Registration for two major February conferences opens next week.
Council of Presidents
Exclusively for county Farm Bureau presidents, the Council of Presidents’ Conference takes place Feb. 4-5 at Michigan State University. The 2019 event begins Feb. 4 with a special commemoration of MFB’s founding on the campus of what was then Michigan Agricultural College.
All county Farm Bureau presidents, current and former, are encouraged to attend this special centennial-year event. Work with your county administrative manager to register Dec. 10-21, and look for more information forthcoming in Presidents’ Advisor.
Every three years, MFB puts on protective gloves and safety goggles and mixes together its Young Farmer Leaders Conference with the Voice of Agriculture Conference. The resulting hybrid—Growing Together—is an exciting experiment in comingling some of the organization’s most active members for a long weekend of ag facility tours, speakers and workshops all geared toward equipping attendees with shiny new tools to deploy back home in their county Farm Bureaus.
It’s also an ideal opportunity to expose new members to some of the best programming Farm Bureau has to offer.
The 2019 Growing Together Conference takes place Feb. 15-17 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in downtown Grand Rapids. Registration opens Dec. 10 and continues through Jan. 8—a wide window for an expansive conference.
