On behalf of the entire MFB Board of Directors and state policy development committee, we are making necessary changes to the scheduled Dec. 2 state annual meeting policy session in accordance with the new Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ ‘Pause to Save Lives’ order.
While we are disappointed to not move forward with the hybrid format — including meeting by districts — we feel we must do our part to keep you and your families safe.
The board of directors and state policy development committee strongly believe we can still complete our annual policy process in a way that allows members and staff to best implement our policies to improve and protect the well-being of Michigan agriculture in the upcoming year.
In the coming days, more detailed communication will be provided to county Farm Bureau presidents, delegates and delegate chairs. It will outline an updated voting process for AFBF, state and MFB policy recommendations.
We value and appreciate your grassroots involvement in policy development. Thank you for your participation and ongoing commitment to our organization, even through the unique challenges we’ve faced this year.
We have built a strong policy process and this year is no exception. I urge you to trust the work your county Farm Bureaus and the state policy development committee have completed.
We will continue working hard to accomplish our organizational mission and overcome the adversities that face us.
