“The vote record is one of several tools used by our county Farm Bureau candidate evaluation committees to determine which candidates they’ll recommend to receive AgriPac’s Friend of Agriculture endorsement,” said Matt Kapp, MFB’s government relations specialist. “The local committees also conduct interviews and review a questionnaire completed by the candidates that helps our members understand the individual’s background and agricultural policy knowledge or stances.”
The diverse set of issues highlighted in this year’s record includes votes on agriculture’s sales and use tax exemption, Department of Environmental Quality oversight reform, federal tax reform, livestock facility air quality reporting, electronic logging device requirements and more.
