The Michigan House Competitiveness Committee this week passed Senate Bills 652-654, a proposal to increase transparency and accountability within the state’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
After passing the Senate in January, the bills now proceed to the House floor for a vote.
Supported by Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB), numerous agricultural partners, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and others, the proposal is intended to strengthen faulty processes and increase stakeholder involvement.
