Three Farm Bureau members are among Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's recent appointments to the Michigan Apple Committee, Michigan Blueberry Commission and Michigan Bean Commission.
Eric J. Roossinck, a Newaygo County Farm Bureau member from Fremont, is the president and general manager of Roossinck Fruit Storage & Orchards Inc. He is appointed to fill a vacancy following the redistricting of the Committee. Roossinck will represent District 3 growers through April 1, 2023.
Dennis Vander Kooi, an Allegan County Farm Bureau member from Allegan, is president of Woodland Enterprises Inc. and a member of the North American Blueberry Council. Kooi is reappointed to represent District 1 growers through Dec. 31, 2023.
Stephen Ewald, a Tuscola County Farm Bureau member from Unionville, is the president of Ewald Farms Inc. and is chair of the Organic Farmers of Michigan Board. He is a member of the Farm Produce Insurance Authority and chairman of the Bean Commission Production Research Advisory Board. Ewald is reappointed to represent a member-at-large.
Ted Bauer, of Reese, is the owner of Laracha Farms and chairman of the labor board for Bayside Beans. He holds an associates in agribusiness from Michigan State University. Bauer is appointed to represent District 2 growers through Dec. 31, 2023.
Ewald and Reese will serve through Dec. 31, 2023.
