Michigan Farm Bureau’s political action committee has been a mainstay for the organization since AgriPac’s inception in 1977.
Four decades later, AgriPac’s work remains focused on enhancing agriculture’s voice by evaluating, endorsing and supporting candidates whose positions are compatible with Farm Bureau policies, regardless of party affiliation.
Launching a year-long celebration, MFB is hosting a 40th anniversary AgriPac fundraiser on Feb. 27 at 9:00 a.m. at the Lansing Center. The event is in conjunction with the MFB’s annual Lansing Legislative Seminar.
For a $40 donation, supporters will enjoy a light breakfast, an opportunity to catch-up with other Farm Bureau members and agricultural industry stakeholders, and hear remarks from special guests. Anyone contributing $100 or more at the fundraiser will receive two raffle entries for a YETI Roadie cooler.
Emceed by MFB President Carl Bednarski, other speakers include:
“The next 40 years of AgriPac’s work will undoubtedly be even more critical to the success of the state’s food and agriculture industry,” said Matt Kapp, MFB government relations specialist. “We need more farmers politically engaged at the local, state and federal level to improve the understanding of agriculture between farm and non-farm communities.”
Payment can be submitted via personal check made out to “AgriPac” or county Farm Bureau/farm checks made out to “FarmPac”. Checks can be taken at the door or mailed in advance to AgriPac, 7373 W. Saginaw Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917. Credit cards will also be accepted at the door.
