You spoke, we listened. We asked questions and listened some more. We put our noses to the grindstone. We planned and designed. We got your input, fine-tuned it accordingly, and now—finally—here it is: MFB Farm Gate.
Farm Gate is a new publication for actively involved Farm Bureau members. Our marching orders are simple:
It’s designed to bring together all departmental and program news and information—content that previously came at members from too many different directions, and which didn't often fit the criteria for inclusion in our flagship member newspaper, Michigan Farm News.
Michigan Farm News remains unchanged; it will continue to focus on the “hard” news of concern to production agriculture, whether it’s rooted in innovative technology, equipment, or legislative and regulatory issues.
Our “actively involved” target audience includes regular members who, within the past three years, have served on a county or state committee; attended a meeting, conference or training event; earned Key Club or Carhartt Club recognition; taken part in a legislative fly-in; used MFB’s Legislative Action Center; or served as a commodity spokesperson. Let us know if we’re missing someone, and please—please—forward Farm Gate to members you’re looking to involve!
Farm Gate will be distributed twice a month (first and third Tuesdays)—a frequency chosen by a majority of county Farm Bureau leaders asked to chime in on the publication during its gestation. Those leaders also chose the format (email) and shaped the content (focus on member involvement) of this new publication.
