The COVID-19 pandemic continues to ice Farm Bureau programming, including the Honor Flight originally scheduled for May 8. A first-of-its-kind sponsorship from the MFB Family of Companies that would’ve sent Farm Bureau member veterans of WWII and Korea to Washington, D.C. for a daylong visit to Arlington National Cemetery and their respective war memorials.

The plan remains for the 16 Farm Bureau veterans and their guardians to be on the next scheduled Honor Flight, but when that happens remains in limbo. All Honor Flights have now been grounded through Aug. 31, meaning the backup flight once rescheduled to Aug. 29 is now cancelled. The organization has one more reservation still pending for Oct. 3, making that the new tentative date for MFB member-veterans originally scheduled to fly in May.

The National Honor Flight board meets again July 8 and will advise if that date will hold or if all planned 2020 flights are grounded.
