Michigan Farm Bureau’s) AgriPac announced Friday its roster of candidates selected to receive the "Friend of Agriculture" endorsement for the Nov. 3 general election.

“As absentee ballots arrive and Michiganders prepare to head to the polls in November, we encourage voters to support our farm-friendly candidates,” said MFB’s elections expert Matt Kapp. “We need leaders in all branches of government who understand, appreciate and respect agriculture's contribution to the state’s economy, regardless of party affiliation.”
Following the August primary, AgriPac expanded their recommendations to also include two Michigan Supreme Court candidates, two Michigan State University Board of Trustees candidates and several more candidates in the U.S. House of Representatives and Michigan House of Representatives races.
AgriPac Chair Mike Fusilier explained how the organization's endorsement is one of a kind.
“The uniqueness of the ‘Friend of Agriculture’ designation stems from our members’ grassroots involvement in the election process,” Fusilier said. “Local candidate evaluation committees — comprised of farmers — conduct candidate interviews, review candidate questionnaires and consider incumbents’ voting records.
“County Farm Bureaus then recommend which candidates should receive the organization’s Friend of Agriculture endorsement through AgriPac, MFB’s non-partisan political action committee.”
