More Ways to Save On Your Homeowners Premium

As a homeowner, you have a variety of ways to save on your premium. Here's how you can ensure you're getting the best Homeowners insurance rates possible for the coverage you need.

1) Raise your deductible

Work with your agent to see if you can raise your policy's deductible. A higher deductible on your Homeowners insurance could produce a lower premium.

2) Upgrade and replace

If you upgrade areas of your home like the electrical system or replace the roof, make sure to let your agent know. These updates and safety improvements may qualify you for a Homeowners policy credit.

3) Install safety systems

Install safety systems like a central fire alarm, burglar alarm or sprinkler system. Not only will you make your home safer, but you may also qualify for a premium credit.

4) Multi-Policy credit

Already have or looking to add another policy with Farm Bureau Insurance? Insureds who have a Farm Bureau Insurance Personal Auto policy and a Farm Bureau Insurance Homeowners, Mobile Homeowners, Country Estate, or Farmowners policy receive a Multi-Policy Credit.

5) Learn loss history

Before purchasing a home, learn about its insurance loss history. If there have been past losses, be sure to have a professional inspect the home closely to determine if proper repairs were made to any areas where damage was reported.

6) Preferred insurance score

Maintaining a good rating could be your advantage in lowering your premiums. The Farm Bureau Insurance Companies offer the FB Advantage Discount, along with other discounts, for eligible individuals. Contact your agent to check your discount eligibility for these cost-saving credits today.
