Jeff Sandborn

Jeff Sandborn is District 4 Director on the Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) Board of Directors, representing Farm Bureau members in Ionia, Barry, Kent, Ottawa and Allegan Counties.

A fourth-generation cash crop grower, Sandborn raises 1,800 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat near Portland in Ionia County. His wife Allison raises crops and beef cattle on her family farm. Sandborn attended Portland High School and completed Michigan State University’s ag-tech crop production program in 1986.

His Farm Bureau involvement began with service on both county and state-level Young Farmer committees; he also served as president of the Ionia County Farm Bureau. He is a graduate of both the Great Lakes Leadership Academy and ProFILE, MFB’s advanced leadership development program. With the former he traveled to Brazil, India and China; with Farm Bureau he’s visited both Australia and Ukraine on agricultural study missions.

Outside Farm Bureau, Sandborn has served in both the Michigan and National Corn Growers Associations. He’s served as Michigan Corn Growers president for two years, as past chair of the NCGA Ethanol Committee, and was elected to represent Michigan on the NCGA board of directors.

His community service record includes service on the Danby Township Zoning Board, Ionia County Planning Commission and Ionia County Conservation District.
