Within half an hour of me contacting our local electric company, they had dispatched a crew to my house to investigate the problem my Ting device had identified. Another half an hour later and they had the problem fixed. The voltage levels are now within the normal range, and I am no longer getting the power surge notifications I was getting from Ting every day and my lights are no longer flickering throughout the house. I received a call from Ting about a fire hazard in my house. After guiding me through load testing with my toaster and microwave, it was determined to be a problem with the utility company equipment. I contacted DTE with the instructions provided by Ting. DTE came out and found loose lugs in my meter that were, indeed, arcing and were quickly repaired.
