WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU
Questions regarding system transition
At Farm Bureau, we’re upgrading to a new internal system that will make managing your policies easier and more efficient. This transformation will bring new tools and features designed to help us serve you better.
This transformation will take place in multiple phases. In 2017, we started this transformation with our Membership and Personal Auto policies. We are now excited to start the next phase and move our Lake Estate® policies into the upgraded system. Any Lake Estate® policy renewing effective 05/10/2026 and after will be renewed in the new system.
- Additional Lake Estate® discount opportunities:
- Multi-Policy Discount for Personal Auto, Life, or Commercial policies
- Affinity Discount for membership in alumni, civic, or professional associations
- Expanded Protective Devices Discount
- More precise location data leading to more accurate rating
- An enhanced paperless billing experience
- Ability to pay multiple lines of insurance, such as your Personal Auto, Membership, and Lake Estate® policy in one payment
- Same day turnaround for policy changes
Questions Regarding Lake Estate® Policies
If you place a new Lake Estate® policy with us effective May 10, 2026, or later, your policy will be in the new system. A yearlong effort to move existing Lake Estate® policies will take place, starting with renewal effective dates of 05/10/2026.
A notice will be included with your renewal packet advising of the updates to your Lake Estate® policy. In addition to a new look and feel of your renewal packet, you will see a new policy number and account number associated with your Lake Estate® policy.
- New billing account number
- New billing design
- New policy number
- Updated coverage language
Many factors impact rating, and every risk is unique. We have modernized the rate structure with our system upgrade. You may see a premium increase or decrease as a result.
For more details on discounts offered for our Lake Estate® policies, see the discounts tab on this page. Contact your agent’s office today to review these discounts and see if you are eligible.
A renewal lapse notice used to be sent if the first bill following the renewal of a policy was not paid. This notice is no longer sent out following this bill before a cancellation notice. Instead, Farm Bureau Insurance is assuming that you are not renewing your policy. A pending cancellation notice will continue to be sent for mid-term bills.
Questions regarding billing
Your Lake Estate® policy will be given a new account number when it moves into our new system. Your new account number will be present on your billing statements. This will happen upon your upcoming renewal.
As a part of our system upgrade, account numbers have been changed from an 18-digit format to 12 digits.
If your payments are being made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), your automatic withdrawals will continue.
To sign up for EFT or update your EFT information, please visit www.fbpay.com or contact your Farm Bureau Agent to obtain the Electronic Funds Transfer Authorization form.
At this time, we do not currently offer a recurring payment option for credit cards; however, we can withdraw recurring payments from your checking or savings account through our Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payment method. Using this payment method will also bring additional savings to your Personal Auto, Home, Farm, and Commercial policies. If you have questions, please contact your Farm Bureau Agent.
If you pay bills online through your financial institution’s online bill pay service, you will need to update your Farm Bureau billing account number to the new 12-digit account number.
*Not updating your account number may result in misapplied payments and put your policy at risk of cancellation.
Yes, you can pay your policies at the same time if they are all on the same account (see “What is account billing” FAQ for more info). If you have policies on different accounts or have policies in our old system, you will need to pay them separately.
Farm Bureau Insurance is offering a new Account Billing option! This exciting option is available for Membership, Personal Auto, Homeowners, Lake Estate®, and Personal Umbrella policies. What does this mean for you? It means when you opt into Account Billing; you will receive one invoice with one amount due, with one due date and one payment method!
- Less Mail: Policies on the same account bill together on one concise, easy-to-read invoice
- Money Savings: Policies billed on the same invoice means only one invoice fee
- Streamlined Billing Experience: One payment method, due date, and billing account for all policies means less confusion and easy account management
- Single EFT Draw: Accounts signed up for automatic payments will have one EFT draw from their financial institution
