Pete Kleiman, District 12 Director

Menominee County Farm Bureau leader Pete Kleiman was elected in May 2025 to represent District 12 (the entire Upper Peninsula) on the MFB Board of Directors, succeeding Dave Bahrman.

Kleiman and his wife Diane work a fourth-generation centennial farm near Wilson; the longtime dairy transitioned to beef cattle in 2019. He also owns a livestock-trucking business and has helped open vital dairy and beef cattle markets for U.P. farmers.

His Farm Bureau resume includes more than 20 years on the Menominee County Farm Bureau board — most of them as president — and work with countless state-level committees and task forces. In 2024 Kleiman was named to an American Farm Bureau committee on budget, economy and taxation.

Four decades as a township supervisor equipped him for 15 years representing the southern U.P. on the Michigan Townships Association Board of Directors, serving as its president in 2021-22.

In his current role, Kleiman plans to advocate for his district's needs, including addressing U.P. wildlife issues.
