Michigan Farm Bureau’s 2025 policy book, fine-tuned and approved by more than 400 county delegates at the organization’s 105th annual meeting, is now available.

Representing a year’s worth of work by members statewide, the book was updated with additions, amendments and deletions, resulting from the review of more than 500 policy recommendations submitted by 59 county Farm Bureaus and several topic- and commodity-focused advisory committees.

The 102 state-level policies cover issues important to the food and agriculture industry and Michigan’s rural communities, including policies on farm and conservation programs, commodities, natural resources and the environment, transportation regulations, workforce laws, education, energy and more.

“Getting the new policy book into members’ hands is an exciting moment,” said Emily Reinart, MFB’s grassroots policy outreach specialist. “It represents not only the culmination of their hard work throughout the year but also the start of our efforts to champion Farm Bureau’s legislative and regulatory priorities.”

The MFB policy book helps members collaborate with their peers, elected officials and state agency leaders as proposals impacting their farms are developed, deliberated or implemented.

Reinart encourages members to get involved in their county Farm Bureau’s public policy committee.

“Whether you’re meeting local legislators over coffee, hosting a farm visit for a newly elected official, or traveling to Lansing or Washington, D.C., your engagement — and having a policy book in hand — ensures agriculture and rural communities remain priorities for decision-makers.”

Members can easily navigate and read the policies using the keyword search and filter, or by downloading the book in its entirety as a printer-friendly PDF.

Printed copies will be available beginning in early February at state and local Farm Bureau events.
