Description:
The Calhoun County Farm Bureau Scholarship is awarded each year to one or more outstanding high school seniors, college or trade school students that have been accepted by a post-secondary school. The scholarship recipient(s) will be awarded $1,000.
Qualifications:
- The applicant must be one of the following:
- Regular or an Associate Member of Calhoun County Farm Bureau*
- Related to a Regular or Associate Member*
- Applicants not meeting the above criteria may also be nominated by a Regular Member of Calhoun County Farm Bureau. A one-page nomination letter, signed by the Regular Member must be sent via email to [email protected].
- Applicant must be a full-time student (12 credit hours or equivalent) for fall. Preference will be given to those individuals who plan to pursue a career in or directly related to the agriculture industry.
- Applicants may use the scholarship for attending a college of their choice, including community and trade schools. Applicants can reapply with a new application for this scholarship for up to 4 years of study moving forward.
Requisites:
- Completed application.
- Copy of current high school, college or trade school transcript.
- Nomination letter of support if you or one of your family members does not have a Calhoun County Farm Bureau membership.
- Headshot photo (Accepted files: TIFF, JPEG, PNG, etc). Should you be selected for the scholarship, your photo will be used for announcement publications by Calhoun County Farm Bureau. By submitting your photo, you agree to allow Calhoun County Farm Bureau to use your photo for the recipient announcements such as our news stories, newsletter, social media and annual meeting program.
Selection:
The selection of recipient(s) will be made by a committee chosen by the Board of Directors of Calhoun County Farm Bureau.
- Scholarships are awarded based on completed applications, required requisites, leadership, community activities, GPA, educational and career plans.
- Submission of the requisites and application by June 1, 2026.
Disbursement:
- Recipient(s) will be notified by phone and/or email along with a letter in the mail.
- Money will be disbursed to the school that you are attending.
- If you are a recipient(s), it's highly recommended that you attend one or more Calhoun County Farm Bureau events.
