2026 St. Joseph County Farm Bureau Connie Maystead Memorial Scholarship Recipients Announced!

The St. Joseph County Farm Bureau Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2026 recipients of the Connie Maystead Memorial Scholarship, established to honor the legacy of Connie Maystead, who served as administrative manager of the organization for more than 25 years.

The scholarship was created in 2007 and first announced at the St. Joseph County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting to recognize Connie Maystead’s decades of dedication and commitment to agriculture and Farm Bureau Members.

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

  • Kenzy Triezenberg, Sturgis, attending International Business College (Vet Tech Institute), pursuing a degree or certificate in Veterinary Technology
  • Adam Starr, Sturgis attending Trine University pursuing a degree or certificate in Agriculture and Rural Policy Studies.
  • Ian Schumacher, Sturgis attending Iowa State University pursuing a degree or certificate in Agriscience.

Recipients were selected by the St. Joseph County Farm Bureau Board of Directors based on academic performance, demonstrated financial need, essay responses, agriculture and community involvement, and Farm Bureau involvement.

To be eligible, applicants must be graduates accepted by or currently attending a post-secondary institution or technical school and be pursuing studies in an agriculture-related field. Students may reapply for the scholarship annually. Congratulations to the 2026 recipients!
