Dear Wayne County Farm Bureau Members,
At its meeting on October 15, 2025, the Wayne County Farm Bureau Board of Directors approved a motion to propose an amendment to the Wayne County Farm Bureau Bylaws.
The proposed amendment is to remove Article II, Section 9 – Lifetime Membership, which currently reads:
Article II, Section 9 – Lifetime Membership
"Life memberships in the Michigan Farm Bureau issued prior to November 8, 1944, shall entitle the holder thereof to all rights granted thereunder, including membership in this County Farm Bureau. No lifetime memberships shall be recognized if issued after November 8, 1944."
Reason for the Proposed Amendment
This provision is obsolete and no longer applicable, as lifetime memberships are no longer offered or recognized. Removing this section will ensure that the bylaws accurately reflect the current membership structure and practices of the organization.
The membership will vote on this proposed amendment at the Wayne County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting on September 18, 2026.
