Hillsdale County Farm Bureau is now in its eighth year of offering scholarship awards to outstanding high school seniors. Each recipient will receive $500.
Please join us to congratulate Ryder Cornett and Hayden Ladd as the 2026 Hillsdale County Farm Bureau Scholarship recipients!
Ryder is a senior at Jonesville High School and is actively participating in Jonesville FFA. He plans to attend Michigan State University and Oklahoma State University majoring in Agriculture Education and Communications with the goal of becoming a teacher and news media. Ryder has been very dedicated to Jonesville FFA along with serving as the Michigan Reporter and the Michigan FFA Region II Vice President. He has also actively been involved in local county farm bureau activities such as being a competitor in the young farmer discussion meet and state level events.
Hayden is a high school senior and dual enrolled at Jackson College and Siena Heights University. He is actively participating in “Give It Your All” 4-H Club, serving as President, and the Junior Livestock Committee. He plans to attend Tarleton State University majoring in Agri-Business. Hayden has grown up around farm bureau programs since he was young, attending various events with his family leading him to become a Project RED speaker, visiting the capital to talk about agriculture with legislators, and compete in the young farmer discussion meet. While his future goals keep him grounded to agriculture by keeping the family farm prosperous, he is also super excited to tap into the rodeo industry!
The county farm bureau also would like to thank the scholarship committee for their time and efforts in selecting students for the scholarship: Amber Kohler, Ethan Bognar, Ron Oates, and Jeremy Bognar.
Scholarship recipients will receive their first year of membership paid by the county farm bureau and are invited to the County Annual Meeting on Tuesday, August 4th to recognize them before other members of the organization.
The scholarship program is sponsored in-part by many local organizations that passionately support agriculture-based programs. Community support is key to programs that recognize upcoming agriculture leaders of the future, and it goes without saying that every sponsorship dollar, every volunteer opportunity, and every communication about youth programs make programs like the scholarship awards possible.
